what is the best way to move a bare shell around I have seen somewhere maybe on here a type of truck on wheels but do not know where to source one, I pressume some sort of pallet on wheels would do the job ...
has anybody got any pics of maybe what they have used in the past, I have to move my shell on a gravel drive some times so the small type of wheels maybe not good enough...
pictures or your oppinion appreciated

I have used a pallet with 100m castors and it works fine - I would use bigger wheels for gravel though. I use a ratchett strap to hold the shell on, probably don't need it but just makes sure.

Mine is sitting on a steel dolly with probably approx 100mm castors as above, but on 3 pallets to bring it up to a more sociable working height as I have a lot of work to do underneath it.

That's what I use as well - with 6" castors though. Bought the castors at a car boot sale for £8 for all 4.

thanks i will have to try and get some wheels to fix on a pallet, might get the welder out and try and make some kind of frame so the shell is off the floor high enough to work on,

If you can weld a metal frame and fix the castors to that, then stack pallets on that instead of the other way round. Then you can add or remove pallets as needed. Gives you an adjustment on height.

Mine is sat on 4 tyres, though we moved it on a trailer by hand - took two of us to lift it

I have used a stack of pallets and a 'pump truck' as we call it. Its a manual pallet truck. I got it free as its sort of on permanent loan. Its incredibly useful but they are expensive to buy. Machine mart sell them

has anyone ever thought of modifying one of them remote controle wheel barrows that builder use? it would be a great way of moving the shell anout and probably wouldn't take much modifying to get it to sit safely on there

Project Erm's trolley looks perfect with the big wheels looks easy to move around, if i could find something like that would be well chuffed..
