does the side entry distributor cap fit on a normal distributor or do you need the distributor to go with it?

i know it says to use a 45D type distributors is that standard on any models? and how will i know what distributor i have on already

i use a 45d cap on my 59d distributor and it works perfectly, and they fit on standard distributors

How do i know what distributor i have? will it say on it? and when you used the 45D cap did you change your rotor arm because it says you need the GRA2128 rotor arm

The 45 & 59 are essentially the same. If this is your condenser Posted Image it's one or the other.

No, if yours has a wire like that it's either a type 45 or a 59 dizzy - there's a minor difference in the points they use. As above the caps ('n many other bits including the condenser) are interchangeable

ok cheers mate i will check when im home (in 2 weeks) i will let you know what i find... i do have electric points though does that change anything?

Probably not,

Google up some piccies of the Lucas type 25 that's the only likely alternative if it's not factory fitted electronic (65dm4) and they went out in the early 70's.


Type 25 cap has a big "arch" to fit over the wire entry insulator
