Has anyone else heard that under 24s or 21s or something who are currently on classic car insurance will be denied/kicked out of it by the end of their current year. im 18 and currently with fj classic car insurance having had it for a few months similar to my mate but came to the end of his on his landy and he was told hes no longer able to renew due to being under the age so he has to get rid of it...... if this is the case my baby will be going for sure anyway.... i was thinking about it for uni anyway but i wont let her just undriven in a garage until i can afford it so my life is making a humoungous and upsetting change :'(

^^^^ Correct.... Infact when I spoke to them it was only one of there under writers (not mine :D) That was backing out, and I was told that they are now looking for a new one to covers all of you at risk of loosing insurance, so its fine! Just wait and see. You will probably find your quotes are good once you have a year of NCB so you could find another insurance company anyway.

I got mine down to £860 for the year on proper insurance meaning that you get no claims as well, so not too bad, as a 1.2 clio would have cost me £1800 meaning mini is still better

Why not try a regular car insurer? It's only a 1.3 (at most) with a relatively low power output etc. Classic car specialists are better for agreed value etc, but aren't always a great deal cheaper, especially if it's a daily driver. Shop around before you give up sir!

I am going to try and get out of Footman james when it time for renewal anyway, there stupid "crash free driving" policy and instability with under 21's makes me unsure if I wish to carry on dealing with them. I would much rather just spend an extra £150 to be with tesco or elephant and have proper NCB and feel secure that im not going to get kicked off the policy at the end of the year paha! I just needed something to get the ball rolling and footman have done that, I will hopefully get a year NCB from them aswell =]

Elephant is my best so far, only problem with footman james is, is that you don't get NCB
