I'm still looking at making the switch to carb, I know I'd need a new inlet manifold but would a SU HIF44 off a 1275 metro engine be alright? Their more or less the same block arn't they. I'm really not that sure.

Plus with the ECU would I just disconect it and not worry about it?

Cheers

Kyle.

yes a hif 44 is perfect.

what do you have spi or mpi?

i think you have to keep the ecu to help run a few of the electrical things.

Got the SPi.

I know I will still need the good ol ECU.

I'm guessing its just disconnecting it from the Injection unit.

Not being funy but WHY are you going to ditch the injection and go carb. Have you modified the engine beyond the capebilities of the injection system????

Not yet but I have plans.

The carb isn't going on there straight away, I just want all the parts ready. I'm boring it out, stage3-4 head, new camshaft and lightened flywheel. Few other things I have to sort out before I finally decide on them. All of this work I'm getting done by my mate at his work for cheap.

So far I've been told the injection unit won't cut it for what I want to do.

i think the injection unit(ecu) will cope upto 90BHP.

you may just need to get a larger throttle body
