hey guys, im really interested in doing this rally but the only real car for me is...a mini! the criteria for the car must be under £500, is it unrealistic to think i could get a mini for under 500 with at least an mot?

yeah! id love to do it this year! dont fancy doing it in my mini just incase it dies, ive been looking at a few triumph toledos or dolomites which can go quite cheap but a mini is the way if i could get one! would need a co driver too! lol

yeah i was thinking of possibly the rat look mini to buy so has an mot just a bit rusty, odd colours/ panels etc...

Just had a look around the site and that sounds awesome. Would be hard to get a £500 MOT'd and taxed Mini though!

Lol well a mot'd mini at least, like running out soonish after taking part in the rally would do then could be sold for parts or fixed up to get through another not and sold... There has to be a few ratty minis that wouldn't pass an mot straight away ( saying that, most don't pass straight away anyway!) a triumph Toledo or dolomite looks a fun car to do it in too...

Lol u thinking of doing the rust to Rome?
I think getting one guy to get insured on it short term and then having named drivers on there and everyone chip in to the final price?
Or getting one guy on it and finding other drivers with fully comp who can drive the car with the permission?

We were thinking of doing it, we even found some cars to go look at, but I think my mini engine just died so might be doing it 2013 now...
