Hello,
I am a classic mini owner but also own a Proton GTI.
I am fitting a eaton m45 supercharger taken from a BMW mini to my Proton. During my time researching installs i have come across many people stating a regular problem is play in the PTO gears that run the water pump causing excessive nasty noises.

I will not be attaching a water pump to the supercharger so therefore (i imagine) the gears are not needed.
So my question is.....
Am i ok to remove the gears? will the supercharger still run as normal? Im kinda thinking this will eliminate this possible issue

Don't think you can remove the water pump drive as its part of the rotors on the supercharger...

Jon Speed sell a plate to replace the water pump mount and get rid of the water pump drive but I'd imagine it retains whatever is behind the original one.

yes thats is right .. i had the waterpump and gears on mine .. it looked ugly . so i took it off and made a plate from 6mm alloy . tapped a filling plug near the top . polished it all up . looks mint

that all you need to do
