Hi,

I decided I really wanted to make a mini trailer to match mine. I have some ideas and some people who could help with the making stages but does anyone have any advice when it comes to these?

Im thinking of keeping the full height but the usual length as I have just bought a shell with a full roof and tub to the handbrake but no front pillars.

Cheers,
Sam

Go with a lower height, create a new front which will take the weight of hinges and the roof. Angle the front for more room inside.

Doesn't look too pretty there, but it looks great in paint.

I've got mine under my signature, it's a bit further then in that thread, and I'm hoping to finish it this summer.

As Bungle says weight is the killer if you actually want something usable. You can buy plastic tubs to sit on a standard trailer axle which are going to be much lighter than half a Mini on a subframe.

This whole half a Mini is too heavy is rubbish.

Mini on a subframe + large fridge + folding chairs, gazebo and tent + a full '91 Cooper = over the speed limit by more than enough.

Weight doesn't slow you down, only accelerating it & dragging it up hills. That isn't the point though, you can only legally tow a proportion of the the tow car's weight - which isn't much to start with in a Mini.
