Afternoon all,

Um yeah, the title sorta explains what I'm asking about. I wasn't sure if I should put it in here or in the technical section..

But anyways.. Basically I'm thinking for the future to make my Mayfair look sort of rally-ish.. But thinking a little outside the box..

My idea is to mount a set of Angel eye spotlights onto a roof rack. Similar to what you might find on a Land Rover.

I'm not asking about the wiring, I've already got spot & fog lights on there at the mo', so that shouldn't be any trouble. However I am worried about where to route the wire(s) to the lights?

I though about running the wire(s) down the leg of the rack & along the gutter, then through the door at the top of the A pillar down the inside of the A pillar & into the dash. Then link it into my existing set up.

I've whipped my current setup off & replaced it with a 'spotlight grille' but a stone got flicked up & broke one of the lights.. I then put my fogs into the grille & thought of this.

Hope I've made my plan clear-as-mud, I was just curious if it would work? Also, is there any legal issues with putting spots on the roof? (I've seen Landy's & lorries that are covered in spots though)..

Thanks,
Sam :teehee:

One idea would be to possibly fit a 'dummy' roof mounted Ariel and run the wires inside and have them coming out the top of the Aeriel or something similar? would be water tight, and wouldnt see much wire at all. ;D Just a idea

Yeah, that might just work.. Worth a good think about, thanks..

I had a thought on the way into work this morning, how do the Angel Eye spotlights 'earth'? Are they like my current spots that earth through the bolt you attach them with? Or is there a separate wire? Or does it depend on the lights that you buy?

Argh! Soo many things I gotta think about >_<

well as far as i can see you may have to run a separate earth wire from the lights and scratch some paint off behind the dash and earth it there. :shades:
