Just going to throw this out there.....bonnet bras should NOT be used 24/7 on ANY car!

They will scratch your bonnet no end and fade paint if left on, especially in wet conditions. They should be used to prevent stone chips on long journeys to shows etc like folk in the VW do. But to that effect its much easier (not to mention cheaper to blue tape the fronton the car) anyway.

They can look good on a very select amount of cars but I don't think Minis are one of them.

Bonnet bras aren't used by rally cars and never have been! 33EJB and all the works cars had painted bonnets with the black bits painted too! 33 EJB just got the black redone recently as the idiots at Gaydon had polished it all off when all they needed to do was wax the thing.

Rant over

So that's what the blue tape is when they're on their way to shows. Looks so stupid though. Funny because they even do it on crappy Lupos or Golf's. Tarts lol

We, at work, just use clear trans tape when test driving cars on the road (but dont google trans tape! dodgy stuff to be seen!)

Most of the VW boys just do it for scene points though :P protects their Lupo GTI standard paintwork for a weekend at a show with silly tape... what about the rest of the year

VWs just happen to be the worst for it. For people wondering what the hell I'm on about, here's a civic done.civictaped.jpg

To be fair, blue tape means you dont have to wash flies off your paint upon arrival to a show.  Simply peel, quick detailer, done.  Makes a lot of sense to me.
