If i put 12x5 alloys on my mini park lane (1987), will i need to put wider arches on/cut the bodywork? I think it has 12x4.5's at the moment with standard plastic arches. The offset of the 12x5s is ET 14. Here's a link: http://www.midlandwh...ight-White.html

Help is appreciated (:

Ive got the black versions of these on mine, and, even though the box they came in said 12x5, I could have sworn they were 12x5.5, dont know if its just the offset. But I didnt have to modify my arches :)

Edit: These are mine, certain theyre they are the same size as the OP's

Edit again: The above website do white ones the same as in your link OP, but a fair bit cheaper:

Brilliant, thanks for your help and I shall definitely check out mini spares :) I was wondering about black alloys but the car is black and i dont want it looking too sinister!

They look fine with standard arches I think. I have 5x12 on my mini.

yeah as said above, i think 12x5s look good with standard arches and you wont have to cut the arches or bodywork ! :)

Sorry for bumping old thread.

Would a wheel with ET31 rub on the arches?
& Which 5x12's run on standard arches without rubbing & cutting?

No worries buddy :)

Well i got different wheels to the ones i linked in the original post - with an offset of, as it happens, ET31.
They are fine for me, but they do rub slightly on full lock I find (not bad enough to worry about i dont think)..and they are fine with standard mayfair plastic arches, they fit well, they fill the arch but dont protrude past it :)
But as people have said mini's tend to be slightly different lol, so yours might rub a bit more, or not rub at all..you should be alright though :D

Here's a pic :)

Awesome mate they look sweet! Really suit your Mini, with the white bonnet stripes too.

Might have to see if anyone from my local club have 5x12's and see if they fit on mine. Best way to go about it without buying and loosing out if they don't. Cheers mate :D

5x12 should not require any cutting/tubbing and should fit under normal, Mini "Special" Arches.

I do believe you need to cut a little bit if you run 5x12 wheels with a 165 tyre, but the 145 tyre is fine :)
