helloshk. does anyone have/ know the size of the circlip for the early 3 syncro boxes that keeps the laygear bearings in place? also the same circlip in mg midget/sprite boxes?? helps.. i know you can buy them but need to get this box together fairly quick so was hoping to get to my local supplier? anyone?

They are on Spridget boxes yes.

Size - sorry I can't help you, if you ring up Somerford Mini, they may measure up for you if you ask nicely.

Sorry I did a fairly comprehensive search through my tyechnical spec manuals and found no size.

It has been years since I worked on my car's gearbox. However, I remember that I needed to replace those clips also. I found the closest "industrial" internal snap ring I could... and then cut away half of the "ears" on the ring (where the snap ring pliers go) so the ears wouldn't foul the shaft. It worked quite well. If you have trouble finding the correct part, you could also modify standard snap rings.

thanks for the tips dklawson, always useful to know as they are getting rarer these days. managed to get some from moss in the end at 0.93p each but had to wait a little bit for post.. nevermind ay. :)
