hi all while spot welding my quarter panel in place and cleaning the weld there is holes like pin holes
in the weld

does anyone know a reason why

these holes are like small air bubbles if you will? this is impurities in the weld. this can occur due to insufficient cleaning etc.. normally when mig welding if you dont use the sheilding gas it can get to hot and cause this aswell.. as you can probable guess these holes can reduce the strength have u cleaned it all the way flush?

Don't worry about them, just grind out any crud and re weld. As long as u fill them it will be fine

With Graham here, add some more weld then grind back flush. You do need to check your gas supply to make sure there is enough flow to shield the weld or increase your wire speed slightly.
