What Drive Flanges With Alloy 4 Pots? And 7.9 Or 8.4....

I'm planning on treating Mini to some alloy 4 pots in the next few weeks.
Do kits like the Minisport 7.9 and 8.4 vented use Mini or metro flanges?
I'm hoping its Mini flanges as metro flanges will throw my new wheels out too far!
Also, is there noticably improvement with the 8.4s over 7.9s? I'm on Fiesta brakes at the mo, but wanting more stopping power. Will be on 13's, but could be nice to have the option to revert back to tens if I went for the 7.9's, but if the 8,4's are much better I'll forefit the 10's option.
Cheers

And with 7.9'' discs you'll use the same brake pads as with 8.4'' setup, but with 7.9'' you can fit lighter 10" wheels, so i guess the difference between them is minimal if none at all..

Dilligaf, do you mean no dust seals on the minisport callipers? Interesting to note, but at under 1000 dry miles a year it shouldn't be too big a problem for me. Retaining the minI drive flange is more important due to width limitations!
Jaydee: I'm on tens at the moment with a032R's, and despite the brilliant handling on my gaz coilovers, I just feel I'm lacking in mechanical grip, hence a move up to 13's and bigger tyres.
I was more wondering if the extra 0.5" of disc on the 8.4's gives a noticeable increase in stopping power.
So they all just take metro 4 pot pads?

I've been on tens for years, but having another more modern track car with huge brakes and tyres has spoiled me really!
Will try the car on 13's with current brakes to see how it handles, then if I don't see myself going back to tens any time soon I'll go 8.4's.
Cheers guys

Minisport use standard mini flanges, Minipares use vented flanges when using vented disc's......
Minisport 7.9's calipers don't have piston seals, but the minispares calipers do. This is what swayed it for me........
My Minisport alloy 4 pots had piston seals??

Afaik the main differences are piston material and the size & location of the bleed screws.
I'm not sure that Minispares didn't have an issue with loose dust seals, possibly an issue with pressing steel into softer alloy? Do bad thing in some ways, I'd sooner resort to Loctite than chew up several seals & my shiny new calipers.

Maybe it's age or experiance, but I got hold of a set of S brakes last year, which I am rebuilding to try on the car, I was a bit doubtful whether S brakes were up to the job, after getting brake fade and using a hedge to stop years ago. But I think that was down to nasty cheap brake pads.
Whichever brakes are the best will stay on the car.

Minisport make P&l callipers, they're the same abeit logos.
worth buying them from p&l then lol
There about 360 with the dreaded VAT, so actually more expensive.
ahh yeah fair point, do you think they'd haggle down to minisport price?
are they any good over the minispares cooper s 7.5s?
