I bought an 97 mpi mini today in racing green, just got a couple of questions about the spec, On the back it says cooper sport, how do i know if it really is a cooper as i know you can just stick them on? Also it has cream seats with cream tartan in the middle, is this the original trim? What you guys think?

Well I would check the v5 but it's been sent to dvla now. I will upload a pic tomorrow of the seats though. Do you think the dvla website would say if it's a cooper or would it just say mini.

get an online insurance quote, when you fill in the reg it should say if its a cooper or mayfair etc

What Cooperman saidWorms - Can - Open!

All I can say is that a '97 Mpi could not be a Cooper Sport as they were released in 2000 as a final edition along with the Cooper and the Seven. If yours has the sportpack arches then, they were possibly fitted as part of the sportpack option which could be fitted to either the Cooper or the standard Mini.

Yes has sports pack arches. The car is sorn but when I type in the reg on the website it says not been posdible to find vehicle details. Also on parkers text service it says the same.

on the later MPI minis there wasn't really any difference between a cooper and the standard mini
they both had the same engine and a big list of colour and trim options
