Hi there. I have a 1380 mini I bought last summer with the intention to change it from it's current race/track form into my wknd runabout. I have done a lot of work so far including, miglia arches, reconditioned the twin su's, new tyres and interior work, I have however been putting off working on the CLUTCH as I'm not sure where to start. I'm a joiner and would say I'm quite handy at putting my hand to most things on my mini but just never attempted a clutch change. I'm not even sure if it's a verto or non verto( how would you know?) Any one with the time to give me as much advice as possible would be much appreciated. Many thanks. Chris

hi if you take the alloy outer cover off
non verto -long clutch arm and large convex metal solid disc with thick washer in center
verto -small clutch arm and flat metal disc with small multi fingers pointing inwards and a steel cap loosly fitted in center
to remove either you will need a flywheel puller for sure same one fits both
thanks phil

If you need to get parts, just look at the arm. No point whatsoever in taking the bellhousing off if you have to use that car to then get parts.
Short is Verto
Long is Pre Verto
You'll need a flywheel puller, some sockets, a large breaker bar, a torque wrench capable of 150nm and maybe a blowtorch if the flywheel is stubborn to come off.
It's a pain in the arse with the engine in the car, but it can be done. An 11mm flexi ratchet spanner from halfords in an invaluable tool for this job in car. Also pay attention to the shorter bolt in the bellhousing, it's easy to see where it goes because theres a dipped section where the bolt goes instead of a raised one.
Good luck!

Thanks for response, I'll get the appropriate tools and parts and then prepare to get my hands dirty. It is my project/ hobbie so there is no time limit thanks again, chris
