is it easy to just plonk in a standard metro turbo engine in to my mini, looking for 120bhp ish. and by the time i can afford it I will hopfully only be driving the car 6 monthes a year.
will it be reliable etc.


or is it easyer to put a supercharger on my spi cooper? and will it still be reliable

I've always heard on metro turbo's you need to make a battery box for the front and make sure you put the ecu in it as well or you will blow the turbo :lol:

i was going to just run the engine on carbs as the metro is standard, like a webber box

This is what the ECU does: http://www.theminifo...etro-turbo-ecu/ you will not "blow the turbo" running without it ! lol
This is what's involved in fitting the motor: http://turbo-mini.com/47257/index.html
You don't use a battery box like you would for a Weber, there's a special bulkhead box available to provide clearance for the Turbo. I'm sure Bungle or somedody else from the VOSA police will be along soon to give you a lecture on the fitting of this box.

do mini sport or anbody sell 1275 turbo rebuileds ? what power can i get for a reliable summer daily driver engine?

you can have a reliable turbo, if you work out the Compression Ratio, Boost and have intercooler etc as many of the guys over turbominis will tell you.

thats good news thaks, can anyone tell me if there is a company how can supply recon 1275 turbos standard or mild modified ?
