Selling my headlining ( in the for sale bit ;) ) and wondering what I could use instead of it?

I read on Minifinity that the headlining stops condensation but is this true?

So, what have people done, if anything, instead of headlining? I was thinking of just satin blacking it.. Or something a little different at least.

Any ideas? :gimme:

Cheers
Conor

The roof gets very, very wet with condensation above there yes.

Would insulation do the trick? Or some sort of foam?

Just glue a thin pliable carpet straight to the roof and cut to fit, it's neater, cheaper, lasts longer and is MUCH easier to fit haha

It's a bit of a faf to cut it neatly but still a LOT easier than headlining. If you have never done a headlining before expect it to take around 3-4 hours to get right, the carpet you can do in less than an hour.

If whatever you glue up there doesn't offer much insulation value, it will absorb all the condensation that will still be forming. Then it'll rot, the glue will fail, it will just end badly. I have seen people use stretch carpet and it does just get nasty. So yes something insulating will be needed.

you could use a bit of flashing tape direct onto the roof before you put the carpet on. Sound deaden it a bit more from those ear-pounding rain drops of the UK weather ;)
