Hi All,

my MOT is up in about a week so ive been doing a few jobs and have had a few problems with my lights, i have sorted them all except for my fog light.

my car is a G plate so im not sure if it needs one ?

either way the previous owner fitted an after market fog on the rear valance but it doesnt work.

the bulb is fine in the light itself but the switch does nothing.

also the fog switch doesnt illuminate so i popped it out and found this on the back

Attached File  fog switch.JPG   686.75K   89 downloads

as you can see the spade conector on the left has a wire jammed into a hole with another wire in it ?

this actually came out with the gentlest of tugs.

does anyone know how this should actually be wired up?

also where can i get the white plastic thingy from ? the one on my headlight switch is a bit charred !!

thanks

Sam

It's wired properly. The connectors and new terminals are available from many auto electrical suppliers and classic or kit car specialists. Try Holden Vintage and Classic, Europa Specialist spares or Auto Sparks. Remember the fog lamp only has power when the main light switch is on and check the fuse holder for it isn't corroded or the fuse damaged. The earth at the fog lamp also gives trouble often. Yes your car needs a fog lamp, they were required from 1980 onwards.
