Hi,

In the process of rebuilding my mini (three or four years after i started)

It's a 1991 cooper - 1275 engine.

I'm looking to fit 10" wheels, is there anything i need to worry about? I seem to rember there being clearance issues with standard brakes. Is this the case or will they bolt straight on?

Specificly 10x6 ultralites if it helps?

Also, with regards to the 10" wheels, whats the tyre of choice? I.e most popular for fast road use?

Many thanks!

You wont be able to fit 10 wheels over the 8.4" calipers.
If you want to fit 10's, you'll need to convert to the 7.5" S brakes. ( the rears are fine )

Yes you need s brakes or any form of 7.5 discs and callipers with the cooper s drive flange. A full kit can be bought from mini spares/mini sport

Hmm, may have to stick with the 12's or go for some 13's then!

The car had had all new brakes fitted before it was laid up - drilled/grooved discs, ebc greenstuff pads & two new calipers. Dont realy want to go binning that lot.

Quite like the idea of the 12x6 revolutions, are there any issues with scrubbing/getting tyres or anything i need to worry about? From memory the 13x7's looked great however took the edge off the handling.

Stick with the 12's forget 13's. As for rubbing you will probable find that the tyres will catch the front wheel arch. In which case you have to trim the metal away and raise the plastic wheel arch. Its not hard to do at all. Get the grinder out, chop a bit of metal off, drill some new holes for the arches and rivit them on. Jobs a gooden. Take about an hour, if that.
