Further to topic lost in 'hack'
Had no help from Ultralite suppliers; well-regarded refurbisher can do but then costs same for full-wheel refurb as buying new wheel......
Have now established that the 'bolt' is just chromed plastic, just glued in.. HOWEVER, nobody supplies replacements. Found numerous forums (Pistonheads; Motorbikes; BMWs etc etc ) all with people asking the same thing and no one has found a source. (very unusual this day and age to struggle to find something via the web.....). Obviously the wheel manufacturers must have a source but it is not visble to the outside world ! The nearest thing is on a German site that suppies something similar , a starbolt not allen head.
Other solutiions : Some people have tapped into the wheels and put in proper stainless bolts; I did easily find chromed caps that fit into the allen bolts but that deletes the split-rim effect.
All in all a PITA. I always thought cleaning split rims must be so ( I inherited my wheels with Mini I just bought).
I foresee buying new plain deep-dishes instead !!!

Could you lop the end off a stainless bolt and stick it on?

Yes, lots of people have resorted to that solution as well, and all admit it's a pain as well.

Save up for real splits. Fake splits always look cheap
