Hi I know someone who is selling an x reg sportspack cooper brg with silver roof, and what looks like an ally dash (not 100% on the dash) he has had it for more than 10 years and is looking to sell due to lack of use. body work is very good, no rot has been regularl undersealed from behind headlights to bulkhead, and waxoiled in other areas.

the only critisisms are that its got some rust (treatable) under the bonet and 1st and reverse gear are noisy.

its hard to put an actuall value on it as on ebay and autotrder the prices of a good sports pack vary between 19k and 8k. but as we know, asking price, isnt the same as actuall selling price, so if anyone is looking for a buyable sportspack please let me know

we are thinking about £4999 as it stands?

A bit of surface rust under the bonnet is far from unusual and won't worry most people.

With a long MOT I'd say £3-3500, take a look at completed listings on eBay to see what they actually sell for not what people think they're worth. The only sportpack I could find ended at £2250, but it was very poorly described.

ok ta Luke, as you say that had 115k on the clock and was an older car, i think 35k from new will be atractive to many..., but what do I know?
actually, what year was the first sportpack introduced?

Certainly, the lower mileage will help it's resale value. If you put it on eBay with a good description you'll probably get the best price you're going to get, eBay is a bit funny though when people will pay silly money for complete rot boxes and not all that much for a good solid car.

I can't find anything to say for sure, but I believe it was in 97 when the MPI came out that the sportpack option became available.

There were a few N reg Sportspacks which was mid '96. They were very pick 'n' mix between SPi and MPi as Rover cleared up stock. The majority of Sportspacks started on a P reg though.

Only worth what someone wants to pay as we all know, everyone wants a bargain and everyone thinks sportspacks or later minis are not worth the money, I think most people would rather pay a little amount for a mini and then spend spend spend turning it into a nice mini in there own style.
Personally you might aswell spend more money and get the best bodied version you can, bottom line though is mini's are costly but that's what you sign up for..

Unfortunately I agree with mini-luke at the moment you'd be looking at around £3500 private sale, the garages would probably put another grand on that + some >_<
