Been looking around now and seems to be less and less machinists who just want to be fair rather than trying to rip you off all the time...
Asking everyone out there whos the best people to use locally to me (anywhere in the west midlands) whos gonna give me fair price and a good result?

145 quid for a re bore and 135 quid for a crank!

i paid £80 cash for my last rebore which was +60 (supplied pistons myself ofcourse)

Yeah exactly I only paid about 65 quid before but they have gone bust so these prices in hearing now are ridiculous!!

What size bore are you after? Only asking as a +20 thou rebore will be cheaper than having a block offset bore to 73.5mm...! Just for your price comparison that's all!
I've always paid between 50-80 quid... 145 does sound like there taking the piddle a wee bit!

what about smart performance? Haven't used them myself but there's good (and bad) reviews on here.

Try Russ Tyler, just done a block and crank for me.
Had block bored and decked, new core plugs and oil ways, cleaned and painted, crank ground and balanted, new +60 pistons on balanted rods and all bearing for £500
he normal does race engines and really nows his stuff!!
Right where abouts are they bud not heard of them... And how much you pay?
