Hi everyone good to be back been setting up a workshop at the end of garden. :D

finally going to get on with rebuilding the mini, i am looking at building my own dolly so i can move it around a lot easier as it is not the biggest workshop in the world , has anyone ever built their own dolly, if so some advise would be great

I always use buttons for the eyes on my dollys! :D

You gonna do one for the shell to sit on then?? I guess you need to start with measuring the floorpan. Bit of boxsection, some wood on the top to prevent scratching the shell too much.

Dolly?

As in towing dolly? (drive front wheels on, strap up, tow around using another vehicle. kinda like a trailer)

I used four 75mm casters (£4.34 each) from machine mart attached to a sheet of wood like an old coffee table top. In fact I layed the old wheels down on this and let the car down onto it. The underside perched nicely on the tyre sidewalls and the whole lot could be scated around the garage. Crude but cheap.

On that note when you going to send back that sheep Bungle?? You'd better not have ripped the nurses outfit it comes in either!

If you're on about the towing frame ( which the AA and such like use ) then you can hire one and then use that as a pattern to make your own...

as for a thing to move about in the workshop, all you need is something like a B&Q trolley :D *cough*

ive got the plans somewhere to make an a-frame if u want a copy ;)
