Just thought I'd finally stop being so rude and get round to introducing myself. I've been into minis for as long as I can remember and ended up getting a City as my first car, unfortunatly I had to sell it and have always regretted it and longed for another, especially a mk1. After spending the past 5 years saving for a mk1 and then spending it all on other commitments last March I finally bit the bullet and convinced the wife to allow me buy a Morris Mini Minor 'Super Deluxe' off Ebay of all places.
It was going to be a commuter car as I'm a self employed commercial diver and thus travel alot and it would mean the mrs could use the Picasso as her daily driver, unfortunatly as with all things mini (and ebay) it didn't quite work out like that, after several things failed on the car (including the brakes) in the end I thought rather than fixing mistakes and bodges I'd bring the restoration plans forward (which of course now leaves me, and the mini, in the dog house as she no longer has a car).
This is my mini Ray.

I origionally was going to create a works replica but couldn't bring myself to in essance change a mk1 mini into a cooper.
So I have decided to return the car to its origional colour Smoke Grey and create a period 60's rally car with the hope of using it in road rallies and hopefully one day the Monte Carlo Historique.

I have already collected most of the parts and have started some of the work, hopefully when finished I will have done the car justice and end up with a nice pretty origional mk1 but with a slight 60's rally twist.
