Hi yall

I have been after some 12 x 6 alloys for my sports pack but it seems none of the big makes such as minilite, superlite or ultralite supply that size. I have no problem spending extra for quality but I don't know of any good brand that stocks that size. So I made a decision to buy a set of 12 x 6 JBW superlights but now I'm freaking out that they are going to be terrible quality.

Am I right in thinking that the copies are the only option in that size?

as he said, keep them clean and look after them.
failing that you have a years warranty.

remember that you mostly hear about all the crap reviews, where as there will be lots and lots more people with great opinions of them that dont shout about it......;)

Well the wheels came yesturday. I was feeling pretty good about them until 2 of the sticky back badges fell of straight out the packaging. One of them was sticky side down on the protective foam stuff so it lost all its glue when i peeled it off. They have agreed to send some replacements out but it only takes something so simple like that to get me concerened.

The wheels themselves look much smaller under the sport pack arches but i stacked the 12 x 6 on the 13 x 6 and they where the same diameter so it must be a bit of a visual illusion. The width of the tye was quite alot less but the spacing on the alloy actually brought the wheel out further than the original rover wheels which is fantastic.

Kicking myself for not getting the garage to put Hi-lo's on when I got the front cones swapped recently. I suppose if I got them to fit hi-los now getting the brand new cones out will be a nightmare. I will do the rear cones but I don't fancy having a go at the front.

Once I get the wheels on and get it lowered I will post pics.

Cool it would be good to get opionons on looks! :proud:

I receieved 4 replacement badges today which was very speedy. The sticky back stuff looks more robust on these replacement ones. I'm gonna tray and get the hi los done over the bank holiday if I can. I also have an mk1 bonnet and grille to attach. So it should be quite a transformation.

Thats nice that they done that, good customer support when some people say they arnt ;) Might ring Midland wheels myself and say one fell of when i opened them too. Always good incase I arrive home one day and find out the tyres been saving weight by throwing them off om route lol? :) Yeah I'm also tempted to get hi-lows on mine, because gap bewteen group 2 wides and wheels is a little big for my liking. Planning on drilling holes a bit lower to loose that gap :)

Is the Mini your putting them on the one in your display picture? :)

Have a look at this thread - Its all about looking after and cleaning your alloys.

http://www.theminifo...yres-pic-heavy/

Once you've followed it, just clean them with ph neutral shampoo and top up the wax on a monthly basis. As long as they are waxed they should be fine.

Hi Konyo

I have only just got to putting them on. I still haven't managed to lower the car as I had problems getting the compression tool to bite. Looks wise it's OK but the handling it's definitely better, feels a bit more agile and the steering is lighter.

I think I do prefer the original wheels but the weight difference is massive.
