Morning all, I'm currently wiring an mpi engine up, just after some information please!  :)

Should this brown plug be in this black switch, if not, where should both of these go? I have no spare bits :/

I have this wire left, it follows the same loom as the horn, passenger headlights and the fan. It isn't for any of these and I don't have a spare accessory! Lol

Finally, can someone take a photo of their starter motor wiring please. I have the one below but I can't obviously see where the wires go! Ha

Thanks!!

OK!

First picture is the oil temperature sender. This reports to the dash clock via the ECU. This should be connected here - make sure the contacts are free of grime.

Second picture is the camshaft sensor cable - it's padded to prevent heat damage from the exhaust manifold - this connects down the back of the block, pretty much the middle of the engine. Only thing down there is the exhaust downpipe so you can't go wrong.

As for starter motor, all the circular ends should connect to the 1 large bolt at the back of the solenoid. there are also 2 blade connectors, 1 large thick one - as seen in photo - and 1 slightly thinner, connecting to the other blade port on the solenoid. There's.. really not a lot you can do wrong on that one, for sake of being tidy you can put the cables onto the solenoid in a particular order, but so long as they all have good contact, it's no problem.

Thanks! Saved me going to find a photo donor :)

So I'm guessing that brown one isn't supposed to be plugged into the oil temp switch? What is the brown one for? Also, I have a matching black next to the dipstick, is this oil pressure.

Thanks again :)

The brown plug show is either the oil temp sensor or the coolant temp sensor. It should be pretty obvious which is which due to length and positioning in the engine bay. If not the wire colour going to the oil temp sensor should be Brown/Blue. Hope this helps

Is this the spade you were talking about nev? It seems too small for the starter :/

I can't quite make out what the connector end is on there or where the feed off the loom is from that photo. It 'looks' like the secondary blade feed that connects to the starter motor on the smaller blade, could also be the bonnet alarm switch. Could you clarify the cable colours? Looks like white with a brown stripe?

Thanks
