as some of you may know, I'm always having strange ideas about building stuff. my latest thought is in building my own egg caravan thingy.
i have seen them for sale at shows, and allot of them do look pretty home made to be honest. I'm sure i can do an equally good job at home, if not possibly better.
im just checking out indespension units on ebay. a new pair of units is only £90 with a 500kg max load which i cant see it being anywhere near. then its a hitch, jockey wheel, and some box section for the chassis to be sorted. the paneling is available from a place near me cheaply too.
if this weekends caravaning goes well, i could be hooked!
anyone got a mini/micro/egg/pod caravan?
anyone made their own trailer/caravan?

my mate made one and we considered making fibreglass panels to build them, but its on the back burner now due to other projects.

There are a couple in our kit-car club. One or two bought teardrops and a couple of home-made ones. Seem like a good compromise between having to live out of a car that doesn't have much storage space for a weekend at a show or run or taking the tin-top and not having your special car at an event.

Ideally like the idea of these and keep wanting to build one, but then I just think if I'm doing a run or a show it'd ruin the looks and fun of it. Just for the sake of somewhere different to sleep

Think i'll stick to the tent.
Can visualise being at a show & waking up in the morning the other side of the campsite after being wheeled away in the night.
