Hi there
Just wondering what type of inflator everyone uses to pump their tyres up.
Am looking for a new one.
Any recommendations for a durable pump, foot pump or electric pump, what are peoples views :)
Thanks a bunch

If you have the space (a garage) then you should save your money and invest in a proper compressor; it will allow you to use many useful pneumatic tools as well as working as an electric air pump.
Truth is though, most any electric air pump + accurate tire gauge should do just fine. a foot pump will take you forever.

Dont have a garage
would love a compressor and all the tools...i keep looking at the cheapo one in aldi 100quid
Ive had countless cheapish 12v ones and they have lasted a month or so and then have broken in some way...a tried and tested view on some electric ones would be epic :)
Thanks for the reply :)

12 volt ones are absolute junk and are only useful in a pinch, lets say if your spare tire went flat and you need to inflate it and be on your way.
Truthfully, any old at home electric pump should work. if it feels like good quality, it probably is. My grandfather owns a pump from the early 80s that is so crappy that the fittings always come off and its a wonder the wobbling pulleys keep the belt on at all, but it still does just fine at putting up to 60psi in a tire.
Don't over think it, I'd say.

I've got a michelin 12v one had it for approx 3 years and use it for topping up but on occasions have used it from completely flat including a 35" land rover tyre. I also have tried loads of cheap ones before this one.
if buying a 12v one just make sure you get one with a built in guage and an auto cut off to make life easier

Well parents came back with a cheap double barrelled foot pump today and i just 'topped' up a tyre with it and to be honest its not that bad
I can see where pumping from flat would take some time but i dont see me complaining any time soon...ill get a high quality pump soon hopefully so as long as this lasts im happy :)
Thanks for replying :)
