I don't think i'd want drums all round with a 998 let alone a 1340! ;)

But i'm sure you'll be ok if you maintain and service tehm well and drive carefully!

My advice would be definitely change to some discs and uprated ones and pads at that!!

Unfortuntely they will not be enough for that power !!! They need replacing with disks!!

Yes well maintained drums can have the same, and sometimes better initial stopping power than disks but if you brake from high speed then the drums will overheat and fade badly which is very dangerous !!!!!

Get them replaced ASAP !

Why would BL change them for discs when they upped the power if they were good enough? I say change them if possible. Especially now you have a 1340, the momentum in the car will be higher and you'll need more braking power to stop it.

I had drums all round on my '82' mayfair which was great because I was on 10" wheels but they were absolute C**p. I now have discs on 12" and they are so much better ( i did prefer 10" wheels but cooper discs were out of my price range), so my opinion.........................get discs ;)

Yep, I'd have to go with this lot-upgrade to disks. I'm even saving up for some disks for my pickup and that's only got a 998 in it :-

depends on the wheels. if you have 10s on the drummed mini, and 12s on the disked, then you'll need 12s on the swap. It may also mean you need to swap the rear drums if the rears on the drummed one don't have the inbuilt spacers.

If you have both on 10s, or both on 12s/13s, then swap away!

To have disks on tens you need 7.9" cooper s disks (£500)

Unfortunately the standard mini disks will not fit with 10" wheels as they are 8.4"

yeah runs on 10inch mambas and the disks are for 12's , the idea the now is to get it mot and have a few track days while im saving for the cooper s brake set up , its it a bad idea to run 10s on the rear and 12s on the front ?

mambas will fit on cooper s discs but not the 67.9" discs and not with 4pots! ;)
