The heater itself works fine but it is impossible to pull the adjuster out. I've tried to WD it and use brute force but nothing is happening. It's becoming quite frustrating as it is constantly stuck on cold and it takes a while to actually warm the car up.

What have you been spraying with WD40, the tap in the engine bay or the cable in the car? It's not uncommon for the tap to seize especially if you have one on the cylinder head.

Yeah, I had that problem but I think you'll find that the knob being in is for hot air. Anyway, the valve is normally on the left hand side (as you look at it) of the cylinder head. The valve is almost certainly seized and even if you can free it off will probably leak so the easiest solution is likely to be buying another one

Hope I've helped!

It's the interior heater pulley thing. But the little diagram on the plastic handle shows the blue hadle pointing away from you and the red pointing towards? I've tried getting behind it but to be honest I don't know what I'm doing :(

Just put slide it over to off if you want no heat and open the window, or put it on car and switch it on, simple, mines seized but it doesn't really bother me

you pull it out for cold (the cable pulls the valve shut so no hot water can circulate to the heater matrix)

in for hot, allowing the water to go through the heater matrix.

i always have mine on "hot" even in summer, as the heater matrix acts as a small radiator and can help keep the engine cool.

if you want cold air, you have windows and maybe dash air vents.

Mine used to be seized but I got a new one a couple of weeks ago and now I love it, it genuinely blows cold air! who'd of though it!

In summer it can be used as an emergency cooling aid as said. I did that last year when I sprang a leak on my way home, sitting in traffic the temp went sky high so I turned it off until I had to move then went to the nearest petrol sation and waited for 15 or 20 minutes. I carefully took off the rad cap with an old rag and realised I couldn't see any water. I filled it up at the petrol station and drove home making sure I went a route without traffic lights or jams to actually keep some air flow, avoided getting too close to cars in front and turned the heater on full. It just made it home :D

After 11 months of driving it with a seized heater I got tired of having a really hot left foot though haha
