Mini 1275 1993 rio

Basically the engine is out, front wheel hubs stripped, subframe removed.

The idea was for the engine to go back in after a rebuild thought i would take care of the engine bay clean it up and new lick of paint, then decided to change to solid mounts now im cleaning up the wheel hubs, brakes and suspension related parts as well as new shocks.

Now i've bitten the bullet big style and i am going to replace the front end as its a mess especially around the lights, grill and subframe mounts! It has had two new wings at some point probably at different time points so will see what i can salvage the older one probably getting replaced as the underside had no protection and is rusting through.

Windscreen panel is shot at the bottom corner usual place getting a repair patch for that.

So my dad is going help and teach me the ways so im fine with the welding, painting side of things.

JUst after a bit of mini specific advice whats the best way to go about removing the front panel whilst preserving the wings?

Is there anything i need to be wary of, particular trouble spots any useful tips etc.

Can you buy a passenger side wing without the aerial hole as i want to remove the aerial completely and install a new one not on the bodywork somewhere was going to patch up but if i replace the wing be better if it doesnt have the hole?

Not be starting this immediately as going to finish off other bits and bobs and its a part time project some useful pointers will be appreciated.

Also a lot of stuff bodywork related will say its for MK one, two or three guessing this is to do with the style for that period of car so what is my 1993 rio? can they interchange with one another? kind of in reference to if i replace lights and brightwork?

for the grille what is the best one for mounting lights too had my eye on the wavy type and the ones with driving lamp recess already in them?
