Hey there fellow mini lovers!
Just a quick one. My first day on the mini forum! WHEY :D I got a 1979 estate 1098cc, about a year ago and put a lot off work to get her road legal, which I succeeded about 3 months ago and now have a 1991 rover mini 998cc that I got only yesterday and I'm looking to get it racing!
so would be helpfully to find some information out about race minis from some very knowledgeable people!!!!(I'm 100% sure that everyone on here is) :)
And also would be fantastic to hear about your first mini experience!!!

many thanks marty

I had one to practice in while I was learning; took it out, on my own, for the first time the day I passed - hooked.

My Dad bought me an issue of minimag for my birthday back in 2006. Since then I've been pretty much hooked. But it properly kicked off when I first saw/got Vinnie

My wife had one as a first car and my mother in law had a clubbie so did the work on both of them. Still that was in 1984.

I've always wanted one since I was about 14.. It only took me 13 years to actually buy one! Loving it though :-)

Hello and welcome - a nice clubby estate you have there!

My mum had one when we were little - no license - she didnt think you really needed one for just 'popping to the shop'... >_< .....anyway then as a teen they were one of the cheapest cars you could get and all my mates had one. so I paid £200 for one used and abused her, then bought another one and splashed out more money so that this one would have a floor and I wouldnt have to hover my feet to drive and spent £300 on that one and loved her :proud: till she fell apart >_<

Then had 20 years without one

I got the bug in Amsterdam with a nice street girl.... ;b

Seriously though, it's latent in everyone they just don't know how to activate it!

Mine was my first car, never looked back since. Although that may be due to whiplash from crashing my first mini...

Parents had several while I was young, always wanted one for myself, spent a couple years trashing metros when I first passed my test and it's been minis ever since

Both my parents mini mad when they met like 34 years ago I think and always have been, and dad used to have a racing mini and a bda fiesta along with loads more minis. We have always had at least one mini in the family. Apart from last year when dad wanted me to get rid because he wanted me to get a new modern car.
Got my first one just after my 16th (20 now) because I remember asking everyone for money for my bday instead of presents so I could buy my first mini

haha na man not going to race the clubby, hopefully change the engine on the rover neon to a 1275, see what other people are thinking though, like which is easer to start off racing!! :mrcool:
