Hey,
My voltage stabiliser appears to have packed in, the fuel gauge and temp gauge have both stopped working.
When i put a wire between the B and I terminals to test the gauges come to life and move, i'm not sure if it's because the terminals on the stabiliser seem to be loose which probably doesn't help.
My question is, if i put the bridge wire in between the B and I terminals is that just defeating the object of the stabiliser? And will my gauges give false readings.
I'm doing the L2B this year from Sheffield so the no fuel gauge isn't too appealing.
Cheers.

Yes, they will give false readings. The stabiliser is there for a very good reason, and needs to be replaced.

Thought as much, is the fact that the gauges move proof the stabiliser is knackered?

Almost certainly.

Yes. Bridging the I and B terminals passes full battery voltage from the B terminal (in) to the I terminal (out). Your test confirms that the internal switching mechanism of the stabilizer is not working.
