ive got a 1275 mini cooper 91
i think i may have broken the sensor which screws into the thermostat housing!
does anyone know what this is called and how much they are roughly?

Could be an electric temperature sensor or a vacuum thermic valve depending on which car and engine you have. Neither are very expensive, a few pounds.

not sure what it is? it looks like a capacitor as its got like a glass coating on it, it screws into side of thermostat housing and connects to the right hand side of engine bay with a plug type connector

as minidaves said, it is the switch for the electric fan in the wing, and i believe they are £45 from minispares.

I can't believe they're that expensive! But you're right. I thought that switch was only for the RSP though?

they also did a version for the cooper carb, they dont make the RSP version anymore, so the cooper carb is the only one available. Luckily i found one for my RSP on ebay.
