found sum holes in the footwell today :(

right at the edge where the panel (from the underside of car) angles upwards by the subframe mounts

not exactly got the pare time to have the car off the road for major repairs...but i need some advice on how to proceed with this, i know i could just have it plated over...which im not too keen on the idea as it doesnt solve the issues of the rust already there

a wire cup brush on a angle grinder will remove all the rust

once this is done tidy up the hole with a cutting disk to a shape you can make a patch for

then weld a new bit of metal in

repaint and your back on the road

just remember to remove carpets and trim and protect the interior from sparks etc

don't have an angle grinder, can't you get the same sorta thing that goes onto the end of a drill?

will they work just as good?

just buy a angle grinder, they are cheap in the DIY sheds and will clean the rust + cut the square hole

If you do all of the prep work then it won't cost you as much to get a plate welded in place. Do you not know anybody with a welder who could do it for you. Even a local mini club could help out.
