Austin 7 Mini 850 deluxe 1961 classic with floor button starter!
Posted Image
"This mini is the deluxe model with the opening rear side windows. It has the floor mounted start button. The interior is brand new, made by newton commercial & cost over a thousand pounds with receipts to show. It is fantastic. The seat belts have been upgraded to the inertia type, including the rears.
The headlights have been upgraded and are very good at night. The car is solid underneath and has the correct flat sided sills. Did have a small area in boot floor drivers side welded for last mot. The chrome work is good. The sliding window catches/rubbers are in good order. The engine has the original dynamo fitted and it is working well. Washers need a bottle and pump, I borrowed one form another car for the mot. The fuel pump is new (electric type) & mounted under the bonnet. The engine had a new wiring loom harness at a cost of £ 221.20 as well as a new fuse box, ignition switch barrel & heater hose. The painted metal above the switches inside would be better if refinished as the paint has chips/marks in places. The heater works well.
The mini has MOT until april 2013 & has tax until next year but it is tax exempt anyway. The 850cc engine starts first time and idles perfectly. I recently drove this on a 300mile round trip and it performed without fault.
The indicator light switch sometimes does not flash on the stalk itself, but the outside indicators do still work. Passenger interior door handle is missing, though I have substituted this so it still works fine. "
