Hi all

Sorry to keep posting but I searched for this and couldn't find anything. I bought some of the alloy door furniture and the window winders rub against the metal collar badly when i tighten it up with the screw. Has anyone else had this? Not sure what i'm doing wrong.

Also what do you all think of the alloy door furniture. I just don't like the cheap plastic door furniture.

Thanks for any help.

I tried that but I still wasn't happy. I'm going to try and cut up and ice cream tub and make myself a plastic washer. :P

When i bought mine, both the winders were cracked so i sent them back, but i dodnt bother getting a replacement because they felt cheep and i didnt like the drilled look.
Dont particularly like the plastic ones either, i would go burred walnut but im not sure i can justify £200+ for a new dash and door furniture

Yea I agree actually. My ice cream tub plastic washer worked and made the winder smooth but I don't actually think I like the drilled holes either. I thought that the metal look would comliment the dash oh well. I have seen that wood and pickett do some nice ones

Proper alloy ones look good, even drilled which I thought might look a bit too motor sporty for my car, but I like them in place. The cheaper chromed ones I had in my old Mini felt terrible compared to these.

I've never seen any 'solid' ones. All the aftermarket alloy ones, from the cheap chrome ones through to the DSN items, and Rover and Cooper items have the holes.

Thanks! They are the ones as fitted to some MPis. Although they feel really nice, I wasn't sure about them when I first got them to replace the standard black plastic handles. I love them now though. Theres a couple of pics on my flickr of them fitted.

Those DSNs look nice! I'd only seen the ones with the little holes.

Have to say I'm not overly impressed with the aftermarket chromed ones either, there's the same problem with the winders and door pulls and some of the chrome is flaking off them now! The DSN classics ones look good but could do with something a bit more modern for my MPi, may try and find some original ones.
