I'm not sure about that... I was thinking of getting a set of them, but have been told it's a better idea to get some Group 5's, as they use the same holes as standard arches?

Don't think they're the same, no... You can get Group 5's for under £40 from MWS in Miniworld, IIRC...

The genuine items are more forgiving when fitting

i reakon the rubber/ bendy palstic sportspack ones should be pretty good, although only going on the fact that my fiesta had rubber/bendy pasltic arches and the paint finsh was awesome and there was room for a bit of movement wen fitting. however people here and on other forums say stay well away from these, but i cant help but think they would be far better than trying to fit fibreglass ones!
ill soon find out when i evetually get round to getting some though.

most people will never actualy ever get round to fitting both types and so will never know the true differencies. This would only be a comparison of opinions and every ones opinions are different. I have fitted two sets of Genuines and bought one set of non, offered them up to the car and sent them back. But then that is my opinion

So far three votes against non genuine

Plus the fact that the sportspacks are a genuine rover part, if the car is damaged in an accident, the insurance company and the body shop will be able to deal with it far easier, same goes for the likes of wheels

ive fitted non genuine ruber/plastic type and had no bother at all, i even downloaded the templates from MINISPEED and made them in an evening, you even get the plastic strip to fit against the body,(see my project paged for proof) i dont see the point in fitting genuine items to a non-genuine sportspack???

Cheers

how can you tell gen from non-gen?

I picked up a pair off the guy I got my sprite motor from, but I din't know if they are "real" or not! They are plastic, but relatively flexible......

Interesting what Markrally73 says as the rubber ones ARE the genuine ones!

Genuine parts are usually better than non. Genuine ones will work with the genuine wing re-inforcing plates available from Heritage. Rubber ones will do better if they get knocked. Copies are always just copies....
