What's wrong with the one you have ? The HIFs don't usually wear much. I do believe AC Dodd 'remanufactures' carbs - according to his facebook anyway!

Well it was blocked with dirt which has been sorted (the car had been sat for 10 years) so it needs to be serviced i know you can get service kits but when i took the bottom plate off the insde of ther carb has lots of corrosion and bits coming off the metal.

So i think it really needs a complete overhall to make it reliable which is not somthing i would attempt. :proud:

Everything will be new though, how much should it cost to have mine overhauled - including blasting of the insides to get rid of the corrosion?

Pay £175 then! Seriously - most are NOT going to be in the mess you describe. And an HS6 will be just as good - and readily available.

Get some thinners or some carb/clutch cleaner & a service kit & rebuild it yourself using the instructions provided. Its a relatively simple process. Certainly worth having a go.

Brake cleaner and a clean cloth and you can have the thing ready to use in a day after fitting a service kit.
