Has anyone attempted to create rear electric windows?
Or is there a kit available to do this?

The Lamm convertables had wind up windies & there are other cars with leccy hinged glass (Honda Prelude?).

Wind ups would be lots of work, you'd need, frameless glass, a channel for it , and drainage for it, as well as the winder mechanism

Lamm didnt have wind up windows,
only the Rover Mini Cabriolet had wind up rear windows!

and they are a pain in the arse as your always paranoid about breaking them
no replacements available!

creating your own wind up windows is possible but as previously said would take considerable amount of fabrication and thought
would probably leak too

If making pop out ones, I think it'd be tricky to join the glass to the mechanism. They'd be great though, I never open my rear windows because It's such a faff to open and close them.

Electric pop outs have been on my list to do for years. The wirings there now, just need the time to do the conversion.

Iv got a few motors from different cars, so i should have something suitable for the job.

When iv done it, il put a how to together as iv seen this question asked a few times now.

Get a set of actuators from a written off E46 coupe. Wireing should be relatively easy using a electric window type rocker switch.
They mount to the windows with little ball joint cups, these can simply epoxied to the windows.

Its an advantage of being 6ft 3.
I can reach the rear windows :)

I'm liking the idea of electric pop out windows though

Just wanted to say thanks for the thread. I was looking at rear window options and it looks like I'll be going the same route. :shifty:
