I am trying to decide between two spot lights the hella compact 3003 or hella luminator compact. http://www.lightbars...pact_range.html

my question is it says i can use 12v bulbs or 24v. I take it the higher voltage means more power faster but what does it mean in terms of light and longevity of the bulb. and can i get 24v h1 bulbs. looking at getting some osram night breakers cause have some in my main lights are they are good bulbs. legally is the highest wattage i can get 55w.

which spots do you think i should get cause cant decide lol

thanks for looking at yet another spot light question

24v bulbs wouldn't work as your car is a 12v system!

Hella are always good, but possibly Cibie Super-Oscars are even better. In fact the best I've ever used are PIAA with 100 watt bulbs. I've never had the Old Bill stop me and remove the bulbs to measure the wattage.

You can't use 24 v bulbs in a 12 v system - all they would do is give off a dull glow. 24 v is for trucks.

Twin Cibie Super Oscars look like this:

24 v is for trucks.

24v is for 24v systems, not just trucks. There are plenty of other vehicles using 24volts

It was winter - my dear wife had to use the Landy to get to her work - and she warned me what would happen to me (and the Landy) if it ever failed to start ........
