hey guys. i'm looking to do a full espray at home. i've done a fair bit of research and i want to stay clear of 2k. what paint would you recommend for getting a really good finish at home. i'm not bothered about having to put in the extra effort applying clear coat and cut, buffing and polishing afterwards. cheers guy

Cellulose paint Is what I would use flat the top coat back with a fine wet and dry to get rid of the orange peel then polish back to a glass like shine. Then maybe laquire over that.

that looks sweet. what are the preperation steps for applying. i'm looking at spraying over the old paint as its not in too bad condition. and which primer and paint did you use? i'm struggling to find any that are decent.

If your painting over existing paint, use a barcoat sealer to prevent cracking and reactions..

I got my paint from Nu-AGENE who advertise on eBay, great stuff! Bare metal panels are 240 grit clean etc, then etch, prime. Flat with 500 grit using a guide coat before hand to find low spots.. Clean and tack. Then paint your top coat in light even coats, allowing time to tack off (20-30 mins depends on temperature) leave a few weeks before wet flatting and polishing..

A homemade gazebo is brilliant. We sprayed a hornet on Friday using a £17 gazebo from b&q and some sheets from the builders merchants

No it doesnt need lacquer, just polishing twice a year minimum and a good wax to protect it

ok so maybe not the last question so sorry for being a daft sounding nuisance. would it hurt to put a lacquer on just for piece of mind and how much primer and paint would i need to do the entire car? 3-4 coats of each?
cheers
