Hi all. i am endevouring to wire up a smiths clock to a permanent live and thought i had achieved this by wiring the positive into the horn fuse in the fuse box. however i put the negative into an old radio connector which seemed to work, the problem is that the clock stops working when the ignition or engine is on. what am i doing wrong ?????

It sounds like you have selected an earth connection that is not earth though I am not sure what it is or why it is behaving the way it is.

Move the clock's earth connection to a metal surface behind/under the dash and try again. If the clock stops again when you start the engine, you will know that the problem really lies in the power connection which then must be moved.
