I have decided to sell my CLS to fund the purchase of a 1950's Chevy V8 pickup.

So here goes!

2006, '06' CLS 320 CDI, 3l V6 diesel with 7 speed auto 'box.

Mileage has just nudged over 115k today. The car has 6 months tax, will have 12 months MOT as of this week, full main dealer service history until the last major service which I had carried out at a local high end garage using all genuine Mercedes parts. Next service due in just under 9k miles which will only require a basic oil & filter service.

2 previous owners, although I think the first owner only had the car for a month or 2, then the 2nd owner had it for roughly 5 years.

Pics show my plate on the car which is not included, I'll be heading to the DVLA office to have it put on retention, the car will be returned to the original mark of AX06 CWD before being sold.

Basic spec.

Indium grey metalic with contrasting black leather interior & polished walnut veneers

Electric, heated memory seats

Electric windows, electric & heated power fold mirrors with auto dimming

Dual climate control with rear ventilation, AC blows ice cold.

COMAND sat nav system with dvd player, aux in, 6 disc in dash cd changer & integrated bluetooth phone kit.

Electrically operated boot lid, can be opened and closed via a switch on the drivers door, or opened via the remote, then closes at the touch of a button.

Front & rear parking sensors

Cruise control with speed limiter

A whole host of airbags, ABS with brake assist, ESP etc etc.

Basically, a very well specced car in excellent all round condition.

Since buying it, I have sorted a few niggles that the car had, they were:

Drivers side exhaust manifold due to small blow in the flexi joint, I had the option to have it welded but chose to have it replaced.

Glow plug control module, (common V6 problem, this wasn't heating glow plug no.6)

Uprated starter motor as original not always disengaging, again, another common fault I have been told.

New aux. battery in the engine bay with 12 months warranty

New passenger side front window mechanism/linkage.

I also had the wheels refurbished at they had picked up some minor kerb marks, (not by me may I add)

All tyres are fine, 3 x Pirelli P-zero, rears have roughly 5mm tread remaining, o/s/f has approx. 6mm remaning, the 4th, (n/s/f) was new a few months ago due to a puncture and is a Continental with roughly 7mm remaining.

I'm after roughly £11250 for the car given it's condition, spec and amount of service history. Obviously I am open to sensible offers, but as it's listed on Pistonheads, it's the cheapest for it's year/spec so is a bargain.

My dad just retired and sold his cls. It was a similar spec with the addition of some amg. Upgrades. These really are awesome cars and can't believe you're letting it go so cheap

It's keenly priced for a quick sale hopefully. It stands me about £13.5k but I only really want what I'm buying the Chevy truck for to make it pretty much a straight swap.

It's the cheapest available for it's year/spec/condition/service history at the moment so hoping that will tempt people. Your dad doesn't want another does he?

Typical, I just spent more than that on a BMW with nowhere near that amount of luxury. 320CLS was on my short list as well.
Amazing cars.

Bugger!

That's a damn shame mate! They're nice cars though, I'd definitely have another if this Chevy truck doesn't work out.

Can't help with the Merc I'm afraid but would love to see some pics of the Chevy when you get it.

Be sure to post some on here.

Good luck with the sale

Will do Steve,

Here's the ebay ad for it...

http://www.ebay.co.u...2#ht_642wt_1061

I love it because it looks like it's been dragged from the bottom of the lake, but it's had some much work done underneath with the new engine and running gear, it's absolutely solid, the chassis is mint as is the body, structurally speaking) it's just surface rust from where the sun has burnt the paint off, it drives superb too.

That looks superb, as if it's come straight out of someone's barn having been left for years, and then you start the engine!! :-)

That truck is a world away from the Merc and it would be nice to have both. Having said that, if they were both parked on my drive, I know which one I'd be getting the keys for every morning.

Look forward to seeing more when you get it.

Regards

Steve

It's totally different to anything I've owned before, I've wanted one for years and frankly, if I don't buy one now before I have to leave home and buy my own house, I probably never will as if 20 or so years time when I could afford one as a play thing, the prices would be through the roof.

I'll miss the Merc's creature comforts though
