Hi guys, its that time again when the car needs some protection. I've used waxoyl in the past which i know to be simple and effective.
This time Im considering stonechip, just wondering what peoples experience with it is. Does it usually come as a spray on aerosol and does it need primer underneath?

Waxoyl V Stonechip

They are two different things and should both be used.
Stone hip should be used on places such as wheel arches etc.
Waxoyl should be used in places like the sills etc.

It is alway good to prime bear metal helps first stops oxygen getting to it and stopping the rust forming
Stonechip/stoneguard is good stuff as it gives a rubbery coat to protect paint and metal from the elements I would use it every time it dries solid so once it's on it don't come off so not at all messy you can get it in spray cans or one you attach a spay gun to or even if your going for a rat look brush on and can be painted over if you wanted
Wax oil is good to putting a wax film over everything but it's really messy not the best at protecting against stones
This is however my own opinion I would say to make your own mind up buy a tin of each and see which best suits your needs
My mini will be sealed and stone chipped /guarded so I don't have to worry to much for a couple of years or more at a time

wax oil chips off easily when a stone hits it and will give you no protection after it has, my father has always recommended schultz underseal and he has been painting cars all his life so got a lot of experience and he say's its the best and that's what i have always used, i use wax oil to get the places i cant get with the underseal like under the scuttle, up the A Pillars ect
