Although the community on this website is mostly UK members, I know there are many people on this site from outside the UK. Given that it is probably the most comprehensive source for information on the Mini, it only makes sense that people from all over would join this site. Obviously I don't know what the actual number of non-UK members is, but I was wondering if a subforum to the regional section for members outside the UK has ever been considered. One for the US (obviously the section I'd be most interested in ), one for the rest of Europe, Australia, etc. I know there are other sites for the Mini that are more specific for those regional, but I still believe that TMF has the largest member base and it would be nice to have a section to communicate with other owners near to me. I was just browsing this exact topic before I started my own inquiry.
I'm a Canadian mini owner. I agree that it would be nice to have a section for some of those users outside the UK.
This forum is an incredible base of knowledge and that is due to the huge following it has. It's fantastic that I can get such great help from all the UK members, however occasionally need advice on circumstances that only those outside the UK would understand.

Even a broad region such as 'North America' would be great. I can't imagine it would take much work to add some regions... Canada/US/Australia etc.
Not sure how many other regions people would like but I often see the same few requests.

We've been discussing this in the staff room too, definitely something we're looking into. On a side note I saw a few classic minis on Vancouver island, I was so excited!!

They seem to have a great community of mini owners on the island, the Victoria Mini Club seems to be fairly active group of owners.
We definitely don't see many minis on a daily basis here, so it's always great when you manage to spot one.
I'm glad to hear that some regions outside the UK are being considered. I would consider starting a forum myself, but 'The Mini Forum' is already such a great resource.

I'll make start on the sections tonight, have been meaning to tidy it up for a while but have been super busy. We'll see how the sections go for a while and take any suggestions on board if anyone spots anything to improve it. The regionals have been a bit lacking for a while so any help is appreciated :)

P.S. Qualicum Fathers day show was amazing!! Would love to make brits on the beach one year!

I've just finished the North America section. If we find it's getting too full we can break it down further into more specific regions but as the regional sections themselves are fairly quiet we'll play it by ear.

Next I'm making the Europe section - again I'm not sure how busy it will be so I'll make it as one big area at the moment and can make more regional subforums if required.

I've tidied some of the current UK regions up a bit too but I've got loads more to do as well as lots of things outside of TMF so it may take a while :)

I'm back in the UK right now, hoping to go back next year though. We did a road trip of the main island and a little trip around the mainland but I could quite happily settle on the island as it's such an amazing place! I honestly didn't want to come back. We did look up mini clubs in the area and saw a few minis but the only meet there was whilst we were there was the fathers day show and shine but what a show, so many classics! Not many minis but the ones that were there got a squeal!

You should also visit the smaller islands too. Saltsprings is great, you can just hitch hike around the island (40 minutes to drive around). No big commercial names like Starbucks or fastfood, just local made stuff like wine and cheese and coffee.

Oh we did some of the vineyard tour of Vancouver island, so many great discoveries! Thank you, that would be amazing!
