the first guy bid, won and then vanished
the second guy is now messing me about.
having pestered me about ending the auction early (which i refused to do) he then bid anyway, won and asked to collect sunday, then mid afternoon having waited for him to arrive, he got in touch and said he would pick it up tonight (monday) its getting on for 10pm now and he hasnt arrived or called to cancel. i have called him and text him twice, but no reply or answer.
i bet both of them are on here too!
shame on you if you are, ebay wasters! grrrrrrr!

I won a seat over 2 weeks ago now from a guy. After 5 days with no sign or contact I mailed him, he replied 2 days later to say he'd been on holiday and didn't realise it was ending while away (flimsy but possible I suppose) and would get it shipped out right away and give me the tracking details.
A week passes with no contact, another 2 mails sent thus far no reply.
I know I can get the money refunded easy enough, but the principle and utter rudeness of not replying irks me.
My suspicion is the seat didn't sell for a price he was hoping for and so he's stalling so the auction will be cancelled and he can relist it.
You'd think the fact only 2 people bid would be a give away it's not that sought after!

There was no excitement or desire to want to own one. Clearly wanted to see what its like to drive with no intention of buying it.
Im sort of glad they didn't buy it, I dont want those types of people in this community.

I am fed up with the amount of things that I am getting offered on second chance. Its so obvious when in less than an hour you receive a message saying that the original buyer has pulled out and they are offering it to you. I have got to the point now where most things I will decline on second chance offer. It is obvious that you have got your friends to bid on the item to bump the price up. If it wasn't for your friend then it would have been sold for 99p.
I am fed up of people sniping as well. The amount of things I am winning on but then 2 seconds from the end the price shoots up.
Ebay used to be cheap but in the last couple of years things are getting more and more expensive. I am using Gumtree and amazon more and more. I keep finding things on them cheaper. It makes me laugh that a mini wheel bearing I was bidding on sold for £22. You can buy them new for £14. I am after a cordless drill at the minuet and the amount that are being sold as spares or repair that are making over £13 is ridiculous. You can buy a brand new 12v cordless drill from Argos or Tescos for £13. There are cars that are selling for more as spares or repair than one with tax and test on them.

First time, his 'baby daughter went online and bid for it'. Second time, 'I bid on a few cars and accidentally won them all and didn't really want yours as much as the others, sorry'. Third time luckily it sold and he turned up with the agreed £££. But that was after ages of trying to agree times and so on for collection.
As with most things, there are good and bad aspects. Ebay is good in that you have the whole country (world?!) looking at your item. Bad in that there are idiots who will bid without even particularly wanting to follow through on the transaction. Some even do it as a joke.
My advice would be to, with smaller items (<£100) set it that they have to pay straight away by paypal (how much cut do they get?! Ouch!). With bigger items make damn sure by talking with them whether they are going to actually follow through and pick it up before you accept their bid. Don't be afraid to turn down offers, I had a few from people in Iverness (600 miles away!) who were 'interested' in my £500 car as a first car but had no positive feedback and were doing it as a joke.
And of course, if you are buying, shop around.

She wasn't happy with that and offered 7 quid. I was so exasperated in the end with this women, I agreed! Her response:
"I dont have a car and it will be too heavy to take on the bus, will you drive it to my house"! I just burst into laughter and told her "I sell it to someone else"!

I sold some Minilites, stated collection only. The winning bidder lived hundreds of miles away and sent me an email saying a courier would pick them up in a few days. Not only did I have to pack them carefully (at my own cost) but I had to get my mum to stay in and wait for the courier since I would be at work. GRRR!
