I am fitting 4.5*10 minilite wheels with 165*70 tyres to a mk 3 mini 1000 (all drum brakes). I had heard that these would fit without any modifications however it seems that the rear standard shock absorbers are touching the tyre. Has anyone come across this and how did you deal with it?

That's why the later cars had spacer drums......so you need to fit either the later drums - or alloy spacers.

This would be a good idea however it is only rubbing on one side. The other side if fine. The damper on the side that is rubbing is also correctly positioned, and is in the same position as the other damper!!!
