Right I know I should have looked before buying and I feel dead stupid now, but I got a maniflow 2" not 1.75" for my 998... Been told to put it on but will lose power, any ideas how to get the power back ??? I know you will say 1275 or something but I can't :(

There isn't a way around it really, other than get it swapped for the smaller bore exhaust. 2" is far too big on a 998, as you have already sais

To be honest I'd have thought more like 1.5" or 1.5/8" would be ideal for a 998, 1.75" all the way through is ideal on 1275 bores, the idea is to have it the right size so that the gasses pass through it very quickly (so they help suck exhaust charges out of the cylinders when the exhaust valves open), too big and not enough velocity, too small and it chokes the engine, getting it spot on is actually a massive calculation and almost if not impossible to get perfect.

Unless you spend an awful lot of money in developing exhausts and stage 1 kits that actually work, as we did many moons ago to give optimum results in most circumstances

Well I would love too but I think it would be a lot cheaper to put 1275 engine in so ...

You'd probably get away with it on a 1275, but no way on a 998.
