Hi,

The other day i decided to fit my interior light, then i was re drilling the holes so i could fit my self tappers in. I accidentally touched on of the terminals and it made a tiny spark (the live was plugged in, school boy error). I then went to check my electrics in general e.g. switches, wipers... and my hazards weren't working. Had a look inside the flasher unit and it had fried as has the 35amp in line fuse.

I replaced the flasher unit, re-connected the interior light (ignition was off), went to put a new in-line fuse back in and as soon as i touched both of the terminals on the fuse it blew instantly again, along with my flasher unit (i believe but i cant open this one to check).

So at the moment i have no hazards or interior light

any ideas why

Thanks

Josh

You have probably damaged the insulation on the wiring for the interior light, allowing it to short against the body. Try removing the light again and pulling the wiring through to expose the damage. A bit of heat shrink is probably best to repair the insulation.

The hazard flasher unit is probably OK - the fuse is there to protect it. Replace the fuse and check it works before ordering a replacement.

Note there is a bullet connector beside the wiper motor where the hazard and interior light are connected. If you have a problem fixing the interior light you could disconnect it here temporarily to allow the hazards to work on their own.

Im not too bothered about the interior light at the moment, so i unplugged it just to be on the safe side. But my hazards still weren't working and you pretty much just answered my question. Hazards are important as well, especially as i have Bristol mini day on Sunday.

Thanks for your help!
